Race: Shawangunk Ridge Trail (SRT) 30M
“I am a 53 year old back of the pack runner who decided to properly train up for a challenging 30 miler (my second ultramarathon). From the initial call with Patrick, I knew he was going to be the right choice. He was honest, enthusiastic, and well prepared for the initial consult. As someone who has a demanding work schedule, I found the six months of training with him to be well-structured and never overwhelming. We started with basic running skills, discussed staying healthy during training, and worked on speed and anaerobic conditioning. We then moved on to the bulk of the training where we trained race nutrition, discussed gear, and built aerobic conditioning. We finished up with raceday prep and mindset. Just like an approach to an ultramarathon, everything was given in smaller chunks, biting off a piece at a time. Come race day I felt well prepared and never once during the event did I even question if I was going to finish. I knew it was getting done. That is a testament to not only the training plan, but to Patrick himself. Ask me to sum up my experience with Patrick in one sentence and I would say this: He is a true professional.
Patrick himself has done some big time races and his experience translates well to not only back of the pack runners and older runners, but also to those with much more experience looking to compete. I highly recommend him as a coach.” – Ryan

Race: Hood 100
“Coming into this race, I had the knowledge and the training schedule dialed in thanks to Patrick. The technology to track everything made the whole process feel manageable. But nothing tests a training program like the unexpected. I made it to mile 79 before the race was cancelled out from under me. Most people would have called it there. Instead, I laced back up at my hotel and ran the remaining 21 miles to complete the full 100. That I even had the fitness and mindset to do that says everything about the coaching. The support was excellent from start to finish, and I’d recommend Patrick to anyone because it kept me motivated and on track, no matter what the day threw at me.”

Race: Rim To River 100
“I could tell how passionate Patrick was for the sport as soon as I met him during a race 2 years ago. While the structured program he put together was essential for me to succeed in my first 100, it’s really the coach-athlete relationship we developed throughout that made this a success in my mind. I’m very grateful for all the little pieces of motivation, tidbits of info, and conversations about the sport that we had along the way.”

Race: Marine Corps Marathon 50K
“I would like to share that after working with you I did set my PR in the Marine Corps Marathon 50K (unofficially since I got off to a late start of 20+ minutes haha) per Strava at a time of 4:51:47.”

Race: Blues Cruise 50K
“My brother Mike recorded me crossing the finish line of the 2024 Blues Cruise 50K Ultra. After 7.5 hours of running and 7 months of training with Coach Patrick, I felt an overwhelming mix of exhaustion and triumph.
Reflecting on when Patrick first proposed training me for this 31.2-mile race, I was incredulous, recalling how Pheidippides supposedly died after his marathon run. Patrick generously shared his expertise and guidance throughout my training.
If you are reading this then you have found Coach Patrick, and I can safely say you’d be
hard pressed to find a more dedicated, knowledgeable, consistent, and caring
Ultra-Running Coach!” – Chris on the completion of his first 50K.
